At the beginning of the month Gary and I splurged and bought a carpet cleaner from Costco. We had a coupon and we'd been
wanting
needing to clean our carpet bad! Real bad. There was no guessing what the popular routes were in our house. I'm not going to lie, we were starting to be able to see some trails. I don't think it really hit me how dirty our carpet was until we actually started to use the cleaner. Don't get me wrong, we clean and vacuum all the time. But our carpet probably hadn't been really deep cleaned in who knows how long. So it was nice to finally get it cleaned and have it be pretty again... well as pretty as it can be when you have green carpet. The joys of renting, right?
This past weekend we went out and helped my parents with their roof on their patio. And by we I mean Gary because I didn't climb past the fourth or fifth rung on the ladder. I just took pictures and played with Asher since Andy also was helping on the roof. We also did some fireworks for the 24th out there which was fun!

It's funny because every time I've gone home I have wanted to find all my old barbies and get them out and reminisce. Well this time I actually did it. I found them and I couldn't believe how many I had! Seriously. You won't believe it either.

Yes, that's right. 33!!! When my mom saw this she said, "If I would have known you had that many I would have stopped buying them for you!" I seriously can't believe I had this many. I thought it was so funny. Oh, and please excuse some of my barbies and their manners.... ahem, at least they have somewhat built in undies on. When I was pulling them all out I threw a naked barbie and a naked ken in the same spot and Andy informed me that it didn't look quite right. Haha! I quickly separated them.
When we got home from our trip we were greeted by the most unpleasant surprise. I was putting some of our stuff away and I saw this huge swarm of baby spiders all over my sewing machine and my sewing table. I freaked! We stayed up forever spraying and cleaning. It seems like since then we've been finding more spiders all over. Last night we even saw a spider kill another spider and start to wrap it up. It was gross... in a cool sort of way. I thought we should let the assassin spider live and help us out some more, but that thought only lasted about a nano-second. I'm tempted to bomb our house. But I guess we'll see.
And in other news, Gary made the Dean's List! He just got the letter. I am so proud of him! He's so smart. I also got my hair cut. Again. This time I went even shorter and got an a-line.
