Gary's Springtime Adventure

The other day after work as I turned down our street I saw Gary just sitting on the tailgate of the truck. I was confused as to why he was just sitting there. And, I'm not going to lie, it was a funny thing to see and I laughed... but only a little.

Well he had locked his keys in the truck! But luckily for him we have a key hidden just in case. Well thanks to that spare he got in the house. However, wouldn't you just know it... he locked those in the house!

So seeing that he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon he decided to do some yard work. So he busted out the weed eater and shovel and did some lovely edging on our grass!

It was a blessing in disguise...

So the moral of the story is that sometimes bad things happen to good people for good reasons!

The end.

Amazing

My brother showed me this video today and I had to share it. I thought it was so creative.

Happy Easter

Reasons why we had a fun Easter:

1. I told Gary that there is a law that says you have to buy your wife an Easter outfit and I got this! 2. Gary didn't get an Easter outfit, but he wore his yellow Easter tie, and he looked super fine doing it!3. We dyed a few eggs and they looked so cute!4. Then we proceeded to show off our eggs before we ate them up!

..every once in a while..

For school I have to read A LOT! Most of the time it's like watching paint dry... slow and boring. But every once in a while I get to read something that isn't a research analysis article and I stumble upon things that I just love. Today I found this...

"If one can jokingly say that the man is not completely finished until he has his wisdom teeth, then one in all seriousness can say that a woman's development is not complete until she is a mother; only then does she exist in all her beauty- and in her beautiful actuality. So let that nimble, light, flirtatious, happy girl skip over the meadow, duping anyone who wants to catch her- ah, yes, I also delight in looking at it, but now, now she has been caught, imprisoned. I certainly did not catch her (to that end how futile and vainly foolish). I certainly do not imprison her (how weak a prison!). No, no, she has trapped herself and sits imprisoned beside the cradle; imprisoned, and yet she has complete freedom, a boundless freedom in which she binds herself to the child; I am sure that she is willing to die in her nest..."

Looking back and laughing

Let's face it, sometimes we all do some pretty silly things. After all, we're all just mere mortal beings trying to get by. Gary and I have had quite a few of moments in our life together where either something unfortunate has happened to us, or we have done something to ourselves that makes us just want to slap our forehead and say "doh!" Well in these moments we usually get frustrated, mad or upset, but after a while it's fun to look back on them and be able to just laugh!

Like at our wedding reception how no one came because we had the wrong address on all 200 invitations. That poor Bishop who probably had weird people knocking on his door and who probably kept some of our presents as souvenirs.

Then on our honeymoon... aside from the fact that I got our flight times confused and we ended up pulling an all nighter the night before packing, and being at the airport about four hours early... Yeah, that was bad but still hilarious. (Probably the last time I'll be in charge of scheduling.)

Well right before we boarded our cruise ship they took our picture on a little festive set with a tropical backdrop with coconuts and everything. We ended up buying that picture because we hadn't slept in so long and it made us laugh! If anyone has been on a cruise ship they know that everything is way expensive so we paid a pretty penny, or should I say ten dollar bill, for that 5x7. Then we get home and we couldn't find it anywhere. It was left in our cabin in the big boat and by that time it was probably in the garbage.I'm still not sure if I'm quite over it yet. :P

When we went to Adam-ondi-Ahman we thought it was so pretty that we should do a little exploring off the beaten path. I knew this was tick country so I tried to keep my clothes away from the brush. Well it didn't work. We both must have looked quite attractive to the ticks because by the time we got to the car, we were both finding the tiniest seed ticks all over us. That was definitely not funny at the time.

Then of course the time when our pipe outback couldn't take the pressure or the cold anymore and just broke. Normally it wouldn't have been too bad, but we had been out of town for Christmas break. When we got home late that Sunday night I thought I could hear water running. When we opened our back door we were amazed to see that we were close to having our own personal ice caves! Gary took this one the worst because he, being the handy guy he is, had to fix it.

So the moral of these stories is that it's ok to get mad when crappy things happen, but there's nothing better than being able to look back at them and laugh!!

Movie Time!

Last night we went to see the movie Benjamin Button with two of our really good friends. Overall we thought the movie was good but freaking long! It probably didn't help that we went to the late show though. I really liked the look of the movie and the different effects they did with everything. The one aspect of the movie that would probably make us the most inclined to watch it again or buy it was the hilarious old man, who in random scenes of the movie, talked about his different experiences of getting struck my lightning. Those scenes were what really kept us awake throughout the whole thing.
