Best Worst Movie

Last Halloween Gary and I were introduced to the worst movie ever made. It's called Troll 2. Have you ever heard of it? Well if not... you are missing out. Seriously. Just to give you an idea of how bad it is, it has a 0% on {rottentomatoes}. This is a sincerely bad movie... the acting is terrible, the story doesn't really make a lot of sense, and there is not one single troll in the whole movie. But you can tell when you watch it that when it was made they really felt like it was an amazing movie.

I would tell you what it's about but you just have to see it for yourself. There are no words I could use to describe it.

But this movie is so incredibly bad that it's actually good. I fell in love with it when we first watched it. I laughed so hard during the whole thing that I almost peed my pants. Since then, Gary and I introduced it to a couple of our friends who we knew would appreciate it. And they, of course, loved it.

Well the guy who played the little boy in the movie just recently made a documentary about Troll 2 called Best Worst Movie.

And the other day we got to go see the screening of it in Salt Lake! It was so GOOD!! I laughed, I cried.... ok I didn't cry... but still! It was awesome. I can't wait until it comes out so I can buy it. We also got to meet and take pictures with some of the cast! It was fantastic.

Chairs

When we got married my parents gave us three old chairs from my mom's side of the family and a table and everything. Gary took all the chairs apart and reinforced them and then painted them and distressed them. He fixed them up so well! We had been looking on KSL for three more older vintage chairs that we could fix up to match our other ones to make a complete set and the other night we found these little beauties.

I thought they were so cute and so we called the lady and she said she had the painted ones and then more that hadn't been refinished or reupholstered. Even though it was getting late we drove up to Bountiful to look at them. I know that probably doesn't sound very exciting or spontaneous.... but for us it was!

We went there with the plan of buying maybe one of the painted ones for my sewing chair. (I need to start getting cute things now because, mark my words, one day I will have a craft room and it's going to be fabulous!) Well we ended up buying both the painted ones because I just fell in love and we bought two unfinished ones. So the plan is that Gary is going to start working on the unfinished ones to match our we have now and then I'm going to use the yellow one for my sewing chair. I don't know what I'm doing with the green one yet because it doesn't really match anything. Haha. Right now it's just sitting awkwardly in between our couch and bean bag. Oh well, I'll figure something out! Then when we move into our own house and have more room I'm going to have to say goodbye to one of the cute painted ones and have Gary fix it to look like the others. Gary is so handy. I'm so lucky! And even though we have three of each and our set won't match perfectly I think it is going to look really good! I have big plans for our dining room. Just you wait.

"Manti... what about Girlti"

In celebration of the semester being over, Gary and I decided we needed a break before summer classes started. Well we actually had decided we needed a break a long time ago but we waited until Gary was finished with finals and everything so we could get out of town. So we took a little trip down to Manti for a couple of days. It was so good to get away. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We went to eat at Roy's Pizza in Ephraim... which has the most amazing pizza I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Seriously. We also went to the temple and walked around and took a bunch of pictures. Then we got a butt load of snacks and went to our little hotel room and just relaxed. I even got Pop-Tarts! That really shows we were on vacation because Pop-Tarts was one addiction I broke a long time ago and I only buys those when I really want to treat myself. At the hotel there were some really award winning movies on TV like Ace Ventura and Dennis the Menace. Haha.

Ok, I have to get off subject for just a minute. I have a theory about Ace Ventura... Gary said it was one of his favorite movies when he was little. And there are so many boys who I have heard say that. Gary also said he thinks his parents threw it away when he wasn't looking. Haha. So I think I know why little boys love it so much. So Jim Carrey in that movie acts like a big hyper five year old and I think little boys can relate to that. He acts like all the little boys want to act. Haha, anyway that's my theory.

It was so fun to be able to get away from all our responsibilities for a couple of days. I took about a zillion pictures of the temple so I will spare you and just post a few. :)

I can't wait to go back to another visit. I seriously can't even explain how much I love this temple! I always knew from when I was really little that I would get married in Manti. It probably had a lot to do with the fact that my Mom and Dad got married there. But it is so amazing and beautiful! All the temples are beautiful, but there is something about the old ones that is so special. I just think it's incredible how much the Saints back then sacrificed to build the temples. They were so skilled! They did everything with their hands, I think that is why I am always amazed at the older temples. I think it is so neat the both Gary and I have ancestors that worked on the temple. That fact made getting married there even more meaningful.
