Try and watch this without laughing until you cry.

I dare you.

As for me, I must get back to my mountains of homework.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

The other night Gary and I watched this movie. I usually don't write about movies we watch, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about this one.

I've always loved learning about the Holocaust. It's such a tragic time in our history. It's hard to even believe that some of the things that happened back then actually took place. I really appreciate movies like this because I feel like the further we get away from that time period, the more we will separate ourselves from it. So keeping movies like this coming and exposing more people to it will help us all to remember.

This movie is based on a book which I never read or heard of but I really want to read it now. The story is just so wonderful because it takes a story about the Holocaust and tells it through the eyes of an innocent child. It's obviously not a very happy movie, but it sends a really important message. I sort of predicted the ending when it got close and after the credits started to roll I said, "are you kidding?!" and proceeded to cry like a baby. But I think if it would have ended any other way it wouldn't have been realistic and the message would not have been as powerful. Anyway, it was a good movie!

Halloween

Gary's costume this year was so awesome! It seems like every year we do Gary's costume from the hair down. He grows it out, makes it into an afro, and then we go from there. This year we decided to have him go as Bob Ross! He was painting "happy little trees" all evening. It was really funny because we walked into Andy and Laurie's house and they both looked at Gary for a couple of seconds and then immediately starting cracking up at the same time. It was perfect!

Later we all went trick or treating. Even though it was really wet it was still way fun!

My costume wasn't that outstanding. I was just a nerd. I really just wanted to wear the glasses!

And we made Butter Beers!!..... because that's what Harry Potter would do!
They were so yummy!Asher loved Gary's hair (who wouldn't?). He kept petting him and just running his little fingers through Gary's locks. It was so funny!

I hope everyone else had a Happy Halloween!

Zoo

Just a few pictures from when we went to the zoo.

The eating utensils had a stamp on them saying they were made of plants. It was so weird! So instead of playing with his food, Andy was playing with his fork. Haha.
